About Kathie Bartley
Passionate about the wine industry, Kathie Bartley is one of New Zealand’s most experienced wine marketers, with more than 20 years of specialist experience.
She began working in marketing in 1984, specialising in wine marketing in 1988. After 10 years in senior marketing roles at Corbans Wines, she formed her own wine-marketing business in 1998.
Kathie Bartley Marketing assists small and medium-sized wineries to develop strong wine brands and marketing strategies, as well as building media and distributor/trade relationships in the New Zealand wine market.
Kathie has a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Marketing Management from the University of Otago, where she was the top marketing graduate in 1984. She has also twice won the prestigious TVNZ Marketing Magazine Awards for the best Fast Moving Consumer Goods Product Launch (for new wine-brand launches) in 1992 and again in 1997, as well as being runner-up on two occasions.
She has worked on many of New Zealand’s leading wine brands including Stoneleigh Vineyard, Corbans’ varietal ranges, Cottage Block, Huntaway, Robard & Butler, and Longridge. Since 1998 she has worked with a number of New Zealand wineries including Saint Clair, Ngatarawa Wines, Trinity Hill, Matahiwi and the Arrow River Wine Company.
Kathie is Cuisine's wine marketing consultant, a role held since 1998, and she is also responsible for the marketing of the magazine's New Zealand Restaurant of the Year Awards.
Since 2005 she has worked with New Zealand Winegrowers on the sponsorship and marketing of the prestigious Air New Zealand Wine Awards.
